SNATCH THEFTS IN MALAYSIA

The number of snatch thefts in the country are increasing rapidly and a lot of people has lose their cash, valuable things and some even lose their lives. It is therefore important that you take the necessary step to avoid becoming a victim of the snatch thiefs.

People must remind themselves to never walk along a road alone. These criminals are very smart as they know people will catch them and beating them if their victim is with other people. A person that are walking alone will fight when there are someone else with them.

You can protect yourself against snatch thieves by never walk down lonely roads or dark alleys. If you walk down a lonely road and a snatch thief snatches you, you cannot call for help because there is no one will be helping you. Things  can only be worse if you are at a dark alley. You will not see whether someone is waiing for you or there are someone that are going to help you in case you are being snatches.

Other than that, you  must avoid wear expensive jewellery such as gold bracelet or chain if you do not want anything bad happen to you and attract the snatch thefts attention. If you insist on wearing expensive jewellery for a certain event, make sure that you carry the jewellery carefully in your bag. Wear it only when you reach at the venue of the event. Or maybe you can use your own car and never use public transport or walk in any public area.

As a conclusion, it is very important to take a caution steps to make sure your own safety and avoid from becaoming a victim of a snatch thefts.

Money

It is truly undeniable that in this science and technology millennium, we can hardly live without money. Even buying something small such as sweet will cost you some money. However, this does not mean that money can buy happiness, unlike the misconception of most people in the world. In fact, wealth is a far cry from happiness. If you disagree with me, let's look at the reasons for my stand.

Firstly, one of the main gates to happiness is to stay healthy. Maybe some people think that when one is rich, he can be healthy or it does not matter even if they have diseases because these rich men have lots of money to pay their medication. This is totally wrong. Good health is acquired from a healthy lifestyle progressively and not in a day. With lots of money we are tend to temp ourselves to exotic, luxurious food. If this food is taken excessively, it will let to obesity, heart diseases, diabetes, hypertension and other serious illness. Moreover, rich people are probably lack of exercise as they hardly walk outdoor due to 24 hours-service debar fetching them about causing them to be at a higher risk of getting these unnecessarily health problems. How a person can enjoys his life and feels happy when he is confined to a wheelchair or bed-ridden. He would not even be glad spending his money and time curing his sickness. Therefore, wealth cannot bring happiness.

Professionals like doctor, nurse, lawyer, engineer, food technologist and accountant earn a lot of money per month. They are considered the high class citizens who can afford large, expensive house with huge beautiful gardens. But do they really enjoy the pleasures of life?  Most probably not because they are simply too busy with their work. They frequently burnt the midnight oil in their work place. It is even more miserable if they have to turn their home into a working place. Most specialists have to stand-by 24 hours in case of emergency calls from the hospitals. Hence, they can hardly spend any relax, restful night at their home even if they posse a huge two and a half storey bungalow with a beautiful garden and artificial waterfall. Successful businessmen may always have a chance of flying to all parts of the world when they go out station to make business. However, very few of them can really take it as a holiday as a treat for themselves for their schedules are always full and they are so stressful with their works. Even fewer businessmen can ignore urgent, pursuing calls from their clients or office when they are going for holidays or resting. In other words, one can make lots of money but he may not enjoy even the beauty of nature around them or the branded, expensive things with them. So what is the use of money when we do not even enjoy a meal properly and discontented with lives. One with a moderate income can feels happier if he leads a simple life and be grateful with what he has.

Finally, a children or a teenage brought in moderate family is better than in a rich family. As the sons or daughters of billionaires, their parents will give them whatever that they want in material. These children or teenagers get a lot of pocket money from their parents and can afford to buy many expensive things like branded, latest handset, expensive clothes and branded sport shoes. But the question is, are they happy if their parents are always working with only an Indonesian maid to accompany them. If they are asked to choose between wealth and love from their parents, I believe that they were undoubtedly choose love. A healthy family is not created for the children. These children mentally are not as healthy as those being cared and loved by their parents. Children need parents who can listen to their problems and give them words of wisdom, teaching then day by day. Parents who are not rich may not be able to buy branded things to satisfy their children but with more communication and understanding, these teenagers will understand the difficulty of their parents in earning money, learning to be thrifty. In short, money does not promise a happy, caring family.

Money may be able to buy a lot of things but not love friendship, health and others. These are the main ‘ingredients’ for a happy life. Thus, it is a controversy if money can bring happiness. Even, if we can afford many things we desired with lots of money, we may not be happy and enjoy our lives if we are always dissatisfied with what we had, yearning for more. Thus, I stand firm that money cannot bring happiness.

World's Human Computer Indis's Shakuntala Devi

Born - 4 November 1929 | Died - 21 April 2013
Very few people around the world achieved what this wonder-woman did. A mathematical prodigy, also known as the 'human computer', Shakuntala Devi was known for her complex problem-solving skills without the aid of any mechanical device. During her early years, she shot to fame by mentally calculating one of the toughest mathematical multiplications 10 seconds before the fastest and the most efficient computer of the time. She was able to answer all of his challenging mathematical problems, prompting him to call her a "Mathematical Wizard". Apart from being an unparalleled mathematician, Devi was also an astrologer, activist and a prolific writer, whose works went on to inspire millions of people. Some of her best-known works are 'Figuring: the Joy of Numbers', 'Astrology for You', 'Perfect Murder' and 'The World of Homosexuals'.

Family Background & Early Years
Shakuntala Devi was born on November 4, 1929 in Bengaluru to an orthodox, Brahmin Kannadiga family, By the age of 6, she had her first major show at the University of Mysore where she displayed her mathematical prowess by solving arithmetical problems, mental math questions and finding out complex square roots and cube roots within a few seconds. After a few more similar performances in a number of other institutes, she found success at Annamalai University at the age of 8, when she was finally acknowledged as a 'child prodigy'.
Recognition & Fame
Shakuntala Devi went for tours around the world through the 50s and performed in a number of institutions, theaters and even appeared on television. On September 27, 1973, she appeared on the BBC show, 'Nationwide' with the popular Bob Wellings, who was stunned when she managed give the right answers to all the mathematical questions that he bombarded her with. In 1977, she received a standing ovation from an audience of erudite mathematicians, when she gave the answer of the 23rd root of a 201-digit number in 50 seconds. The most powerful computer at the time took exactly 62 seconds. Thereafter, she was invited to the Imperial College, London, on June 18, 1980, where she answered a challenging problem in just a few seconds leaving the audience baffled. The fame of this 16-year-old whiz-kid grew manifold when she beat one of the world's fastest computers by 10 seconds, while multiplying two 13-digit numbers in 28 seconds.

Major Works
'Puzzles to Puzzle You' is considered one of Shakuntala Devi's best works for aspiring and budding mathematicians. Critics have rated this book as one of the best reads for people who want to excel in the field of mathematics and master the secrets of the subject. A book meant for starters, this publication sold over 6,000 copies in its first week and continues to be an inspiration for many.

'Perfect Murder', authored by this mathematical wizard, is the tale of a successful lawyer-turned-killer and is regarded as a fine work of fiction. Translated in a few regional languages, 'Perfect Murder' put her in the spotlight for her literary abilities as well.'The World of Homosexuals', published in 1977, went almost unnoticed in the beginning due to its bold content and the country's inhospitable outlook to such a controversial issue. However, with the onset of a new cultural wave, the book soon began to gather some attention and was included in the 'Top 100 books by Indian authors' in 2005.
Awards & Achievements
Shakuntala Devi won the 'Distinguished Woman of the Year Award' in 1969, from the University of Philippines along with a gold medal. In 1988, she was honored with the 'Ramanujan Mathematical Genius Award' in Washington D.C., conferred to her by the-then Indian Ambassador to US.Her name was listed in the '1995 Guinness Book of World Records' edition for her outstanding mathematical feat where she beat the world's fastest computer at multiplying two thirteen digit numbers.A month before her death, she was honored with the 'Lifetime Achievement Award' in Mumbai, in 2013.
Trivia
This famous Indian mathematician and 'Child Prodigy' never attended school in her younger days, but grew up to become one of the greatest mathematicians and authored a number of books on mathematics. In Rome, a calculating machine found one of her answers to be wrong. However, after re-checking the answer, the solution given by the computer was proven wrong and hers was established as right!

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Using Mobile Phone

It’s no secret that smart phones are everywhere these days. It seems like nearly everyone has one, even if they’re not sporting some fancy new model. That’s why we’ve compiled this definitive list of the main advantages and disadvantages of cell phones.

Advantages - Communicating with Friends, Family, and Coworkers
This one is pretty obvious but bare with us. Since the first cell phone, we’ve been able to make calls while on the go. But given the fact that almost everyone today owns at least a basic mobile phone and the majority have their phone on hand at all times, you’re able to get in touch with people nearly 24/7.

Add to this the cell phone towers constantly popping up to give us ever-improving reception and even being in a building or outside of the city isn’t the problem it used to be. This comes in handy in so many ways. Let your boss know about last second changes to an important business deal, keep tabs on your kids, hit a friend for an impromptu hangout, or even call for help in an emergency. All these things and more are easier than ever.

Constant Internet Access
It doesn’t take much of an imagination to come up with tons of advantages of having the internet at your fingertips any time you need it. Want to find all the local movie times? No problem.
Need to look up the number for that restaurant you were supposed to make reservations at? Just pull out your phone. Smartphone’s have also been effectively solving friendly arguments about random trivia for years. Learn to take advantage of everyone’s constant connection to the internet.

Applications and the All-in-One Device
It’s tough to fit an mp3 player, digital camera, phone, and GPS all in your pockets at the same time – at least comfortably. Fortunately for you, today’s cell phones mean that’s not a problem anymore. It’s been our go-to calculator and flashlight for at least the past decade and a Smartphone is probably the only camera many people even own. To learn to create professional-quality shots with your phone’s camera.

If that weren’t enough, there are apps for practically everything. Now your phone is also an eBook reader, currency converter, and handheld gaming device. There are even apps that help you learn foreign languages on the go.

Disadvantages - Hinder Real Human Interaction
Our phones can do so much these days that some people have trouble tearing themselves away long enough to reconnect with the real world. You’ve likely seen them around town, on public transportation, and in stores with their eyes and fingers glued to their mobile device. Instead of interacting with the people around them, they ignore face-to-face conversation for virtual ones.
Many believe that our younger generation is actually less capable of normal socializing because of this. They’ve gotten so little practice that they’re simply not comfortable with chatting with someone they meet out in public. Since humans are social creatures by nature who need real life connections, this runs the risk of becoming a huge problem for society.

Lead to Some Pretty Serious Accidents
That’s not the only way the inattention to their surrounding caused by cell phones creates problems. It can actually cost lives when drivers focused on texting or social media lose control of their vehicle and have major accidents. Is letting your friend know you’re on the way really worth dying over?
And it’s not safe to do it while you’re walking either. For one, people have stepped into oncoming traffic while staring at the screen of their phone. Less seriously, you can fall down stairs, trip over something on the ground, or bump into a wall or another pedestrian while you’re absorbed with what’s happening on Face book.

Do the Disadvantages Outweigh the Advantages?
What do you think? Does the bad outweigh the good? I personally don’t think so.
The cons of mobile phones are mostly a case of too much of a good thing. Pull yourself away from your device when you’re out on the town and don’t isolate yourself from the people around you. Don’t even think about touching that thing while you’re driving, walking, riding a bike, or anything else that requires your full attention. And Then you’ll be able to enjoying all the helpful things mobile phones bring to the table without the negatives.

The Night Market

One of the most interesting places in Malaysia is the night market. You may visit and experience the night market yourselves. Both locals and foreigners agree that the night market is the most common feature in the local society.

The night market begins when the vendors arrive in the late afternoon. More and more goods laden vans arrive to begin a brisk day of business. Most of the vendors busily set out to set up their stalls respectively in order to get ready for a brisk day of business.

The sun gradually sets and the night market picks up momentum. More cars and vans are arriving. By now, the stalls are neatly and strategically arranged to entice their customers. There is an assortment of goods sold ranging from food, toys and clothes, to name a few. A variety of goods is sold at low prices.

Large rainbow-coloured parasols are used to shade the people from rain and shine. A concoction of blaring music can be heard in the night market background amidst the constant shouting. It is an amazing kaleidoscope of sights, sounds, smells and colours.

The night market is known as a haven by local ‘gourmets’ who can enjoy various kinds of mouth-watering local cuisine. Still more people arrive, they come from all walks of life, mingling freely and harmoniously. Crowds are walking up and down in an endless stream. Some of them are stopping by the stalls and haggling before making purchases. Little children tag along, amused and excited. Sprinklings of tourists join in to experience the lifestyle of typical Malaysian folks.

When night falls, lighted lamps brighten up the place, they add gaiety to this atmosphere, and it is like a funfair. The night wears on and the traffic of people recedes. Vendors get a chance to rest their weary legs besides bantering with each other.

By 10.00 pm, all the stalls call it a day. The vendors pack up and close the van doors. One by one, they leave, leaving behind pieces of papers, plastic bags and discarded boxes. It us an eyesore! Finally, the night market disappears. The place becomes quite and still once more.

What is freedom?

What is freedom? Some might said that freedom is something that will make us happy however from my view of point, freedom is free from any obstacle and only could be attained by death. Freedom is can be divided by 3 main common things that people used to say such as free, happy and money.

Free, almost anyone wanted to be free.it like a dream or a goal for those who have locked inside the room or prisoner. Free is often symbolize as a bird.

People always think that bird is free, they can fly anywhere they want in this world if they got their wings. However that is not true, in order to archive freedom they must face a harder suffering to get on their current state now.

Happy is also a freedom from my point of view that is because we do whatever we want when we are happy. Parent always said that they sacrifice their future for our sake but they will be happy when we are on the age of success and take it care when we were young as well. Parent happiness also our or the children happiness as well.

Last but not least is money. Money is also form of freedom but it also the root of all evil. Money can gain infinite freedom because they can go wherever they want and buy everything their want just with money such as House, Cars, Phones even women and many more. The reason why I said money is money is a figure or a symbol that everyone look to. Every day the reason why they work is money. If they already the money why should they work?

In the nutshell, Freedom is about something that can make you free, happy also money can give you free as well. Freedom can be change according to a person perception. If the person has a good intention then he/her freedom might be good as well however do not judge a book by its cover, The person you might think is nice maybe the real deal so becareful.

WORLD HIJAB DAY

World Hijab Day is an event that takes place on February 1 every year. This event was celebrated in 2013 for the first time. World Hijab Day was founded by Nazma Khan and the purpose of this event is to encourage all Muslim and non-Muslim women to wear hijab and gain experience about the hijab .

Other than that, the objective of World Hijab Day is to allay some of the myths and controversies among the Muslim women that choose to wear the hijab. She especially felt the call to bring the message having experienced “being the odd one out” since her school days after her family moved from Bangladesh to the United States, when she was 11-years-old.

The message had been spread through the social media and attracted all the women in the world including non-Muslim women. There are more than 50 appointed World Hijab Day ambassadors from 20 countries. And, Malaysia has a total of 7 ambassadors.

Two Chinese women from Malaysia namely Carol Lee, Mrs Universe 2013 who is said to endorsed the movement of the event in Malaysia and also Felixia Yeap, the ex-Playboy bunny and model shared her story on wearing the hijab.

In other words, World Hijab Day provides support for the hijabi girls to vocalize their opinion.

Global Warming

One of the biggest problems facing the world today is global warming. Many scientists believe that our production of carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases is having a heating effect on the atmosphere, and this could be very dangerous for human life. This essay will examine the problem of global warming and suggest some ways of solving the problem.

Global warming is the warming near the earth's surface those results when the earth's atmosphere traps the sun's heat. The earth is getting warmer. The changes are small, so far, but they are expected to grow and speed up. Within the next fifty to one hundred years, the earth may be hotter than it has been in the past million years. As oceans warm and glaciers melt, land and cities along coasts may be flooded. Heat and drought may cause forests to die and food crops to fail. Global warming will affect weather everywhere, plants and animals everywhere, people everywhere; people are warming the earth's atmosphere by burning fuels, cutting down forest, and by taking part in other activities that release certain heat trapping goes into the air

Unfortunately, burning fossil fuels is not the only thing that we humans are doing to increase the amount of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere. In many parts of the world today, forest are being destroyed at an alarming rate. Enormous numbers of trees are being cut down, both to provide timber and to clear the land for farming or ranching. This destructive process is called deforestation. In order to clear forests for agriculture, people cut down and burn all the trees in area. When the flames die down, nothing is left but acres of blackened, lifeless countryside. The fire destroys all the plants and kills or drives off the animals. Because there has been little attempt to replant trees in deforested areas, the world's forests are disappearing very quickly.

Deforestation makes the problem of the greenhouse effect worse in two ways. When trees are burned, carbon dioxide is released into the air. Some researchers think that the large-scale burning of forests around the world adds at least one billion tons of carbon dioxide to the atmosphere each year. But deforestation does more than just add carbon dioxide into the air.To also eliminates countless numbers of carbon dioxide-absorbing trees from the environment. As fewer and fewer trees are left to take up carbon dioxide, the concentration of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere increases faster and faster.

Many problems could result from global warming. One of the biggest problem is the rising of sea level. This could result in the flooding of low lying coatal areas and cities, such as Egypt, the Netherlands, and Bangladesh. Some countries might even disappear completely! Another problem caused by global warming is the changes in weather patterns. Many areas of the world are experiencing increased hurricanes, floods, and other unusual weather. A third problem associated with global warming is the effect on the animals. Fish population could be affected, while some insects which spread disease might become more common.

There are several things we can do to solve the problem of global warming. One solution is to stopproducing C02. We can do this by switching from oil, coal and gas to renewable energy. Another solution is to plant more trees. Trees absorb carbon dioxide and produce oxygen, which is not agreen house gas. A third solution is to use less energy and to recycle more products. Generatingelectricity is one of the main sources of carbon dioxide. If we use less electricity, we will produce less C02. In conclusion, if we make small changes now in the way we live, we can avoid huge changes in the future. Scientists, governments and individuals must work together to overcome this threat.

Is it better for mothers to stay at home and not work ?

Governments all over the word are encouraging education and are trying to remove
barriers to education. As more and more women are also getting an education there are
greater employment opportunities for women.

In spite of this, there is greater need for women to stay home and be homemakers. Young children
and the growing needs of families require the attention of mothers. If women are to spend eight
hours each day at work, then the children, especially the very young ones would have to be left at day care centers, nurseries or with maids. In some instances,
young children are left with their grandparents or relatives, but this is not always possible

It cannot be denied that mothers are the pillars of strength in any family.
If they give up their role as home makers and thrust it to others, such as maids,
then there may be some unpleasant consequences. In some cases, children have
been abused and in other cases, they have been greatly influenced by the maids,
who are usually foreigners. They would not only have to learn the language of the maids,
but would also be susceptible to picking up their mannerisms. They would also
be open to some customs and practices of the maids.

As it is expensive to hire maids, in some cases children are left in the care of others,
who may exert a negative influence on the children’s upbringing. It is therefore
imperative that mothers should stay at home to care for their children,
especially during the crucial period of their growth. Furthermore, mothers would be
able to guide and supervise their children in their daily routines and therefore
stand out as role models to them. When mothers stay at home, they will able to
mould their children better.

It is said that generation of tomorrow depends on the mothers of today. Social ills and
other social cultural problems, faced by both young children and teenagers could be
erad cated, if mothers stay at home and not go to work. They will be able to
devote more time and care for their families. Strong families depend on their mothers.

"I will never die" - Mona Fandey

The year was 1993 and witchcraft was on every Malaysian's lips, Maznah Ismail (1956 - 2 November 2001), better known as Mona Fandey has struck a new time low with her new found infamy over the death of Mazlan Idris, a state assemblyman for the constituency of Batu Talam in the state of Pahang.

There was a moment in time far back in the late 1980's, Mona Fandey was a household name with numerous hit songs during the phase in her life she was a successful Malaysian pop singer that were both sensible to the public and also endearing as a public moral campaign.

However, as time goes by and her fame begins to falter, Mona rediscovers herself entranced by witchcraft and the supernaturals. The then pop star was now a practitioner of the black arts. The transition was not quite acceptable by her fans and family, but the ordeal was not fully despised. The outcome of her new career was an encounter with immense fear and shock to the entire general public, the path she took was the path to her own hubris.

On Jul 22 1993, after he had gone missing when trying to boost his political career with the aid of Mona and associates, Datuk Mazlan Idris was found chopped 18 parts and buried in a store room in Mona's house in Pahang. On the day of his disappearance, it is reported he withdrawn RM 300,000 from a bank. Basing on the official news report, it is said that Mona and co had demanded RM 2.5 million. Mazlan paid the couple RM 500,000 as deposit, and gave them 10 land titles as surety for the remaining RM 2 million. What is also known about this case is the involvement of black magic rituals for a supposed "invincibility" talisman for Datuk Mazlan to obtain major support for political gain.

The paper trail that led to the capture of Mona Fandey was due to her, again, own hubris when she decided to go shopping spree where she bought a Mercedes-Benz and had a facelift. This eventually sparked a full on investigation onto the infamous bomoh for the upperclassmen. What was discover throughout the investigation was the hideous nature of a former pop singer to achieve stardom again. She insisted the murder was an accident that was caused by Datuk Mazlan's incompetence to stay in the ritual taboo, and so to dispose the body and cover the accident, she, her husband Mohd Affandi Abdul Rahman and their assistant Juraimi Hassan decided to cconduct the gruesome deed of dismembering the state assemblyman to 18 parts and bury him.

The trial of Mona Fandey and co received international and national fame, polarized stance led to Anti-death penalty movements including Amnesty International voiced their opposition to the execution of the trio. The verdict was done, the trio is hanged. What was found curious about the pre-dawn execution of the trio, Mona and her assistant Juraimi were calm and collected, not a single shred of remorse was reflected on their face. Truly stone cold. The trial and case of Mona and co not only led a fear about the practice of black magic amongst the top society, it actually spawn numerous tv and film adaption. It also led to the state of morality between murder and fame, similar to the life of Mona Fandey.

Mona Fandey, from famed and morally correct pop singer, dies a notorious murderess in the bounds of black magic. When the star falls, the burn.
